On October 26, the National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) received a letter from the National Task Force (NTF) against 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) which called the attention of the association regarding the alleged violations that have been committed by various golf clubs in Metro Manila with National Chief Implementer, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. expressing the NTF’s willingness to enjoin to “oversee that all rules and regulations are strictly complied with especially with the implementation of the Minimum Public Health Standards across all golf clubs in the country”
That is something that the golf association aims to address with complete compliance.
In response to the NTF’s letter, the association released a letter addressed to all golf clubs, Signed by NGAP Secretary-General Bones Floro, it stated that “The NGAP’s leadership has signified its willingness to help address COVID-19-related issues among all golf clubs in our country. We are now working out a detailed recommendation to the NTF specifying safety protocols for the mandatory compliance of all golf clubs” The letter also added that “The NGAP is also prepared to hold inspections at various clubs to monitor implementation of these detailed rules, and to submit reports to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) regularly”
Floro also reiterated in the letter that “The NGAP shares the national government’s aim to defeat COVID-19 and to help attain health as well as economic recovery for our country”
