In its continuing effort to improve the Rules knowledge among club players of all abilities, the National Golf Association of the Philippines will conduct a Workshop and Seminar on the Rules of Golf today (Wednesday) and tomorrow at the Alabang Country Club.
The country’s governing golf body has invited representatives of the various golf clubs to the two-day session to be facilitated by Jin-Woo Kim, Cc Boo, Eddy Putra, Henry Arabelo and Francis Montaliana with KP Ling of Singapore as observer.
The seminar, which starts at 9:15 a.m., will delve on various rules from the tee shot to playing the ball, the putting green, lifting and returning the ball to play to the free relief and relief with penalty and disputes and doubtful points before participants take on an R&A Level I examination.
Day 2 of the R&A Rules School will feature practical on-course demonstrations and running a competition starting at 9 a.m.
All the Rule Changes for 2019 will also be taken up, according to NGAP, headed by president Martin Lorenzo and sec-gen Bones Floro with Caloy Coscolluela and Pepot Iñigo as co-chairmen of the Rules Committee.
Among those participating are member clubs Alabang, Anvaya Cove, Apo, Bacolod, Beverly Place, Calatagan, Caliraya Springs, Camp Aguinaldo, Camp John Hay, Canlubang, Club Intramuros, Eagle Ridge, Eastridge, Fernando Air Base, Forest Hills, Iloilo;
Luisita, Manila Golf Club, Mimosa, Mt. Malarayat, Negros Occidental, Navy, Sherwood, Tagaytay Highlands, Midlands, Manila Southwoods, Orchard, Riviera, Royal Northwoods, Valley, Veterans, Villamor and Wack Wack.
Also in the roster are associate members Junior Golf Foundation and Southlinks along with non-members Splendido, South Pacific, Pradera Verde and Sahara Golf Club-Kuwait.
