Coscolluela gets top NGAP post
MANILA, Philippines – Alabang’s Caloy Coscolluela, a long time director of the country’s golf body, was voted president of the National Golf Association of the Phl yesterday during the NGAP’s annual council meeting and biennial elections at Camp Aguinaldo.
Manila Golf Club’s Aurelio Montinola garnered 56 votes and topped the polls attended by representatives from 23 of 37 member clubs. He was later voted as chairman.
Coscolluela, who drew 52 votes, replaces Canlubang’s Tommy Manotoc, who served for two terms as chief of the country’s governing body for golf.
Other members of the new 11-man board are Orchard’s Conrado Benitez II (vice president), Jose Iñigo of Riviera (sec-gen), Al Panlilio of Nueva Ecija Golf Club (treasurer) and Jun Galindez, also of Alabang, (auditor).
The five directors are Erwin Temeña of Eastridge Golf Club, Mt. Malarayat’s Mike Carr, Atty. Harrison Paltongan of Sherwood Hills, Col. Alberto Tan of Camp Aguinaldo and Dr. Philip Ella Juico of Wack Wack.
